Club Touring Information:  Updates from Gail and Jim Darby regarding monthly activities and tour schedule for this year.

Some months are open and need tour suggestions. The dates are not craved in stone and can be changed to accommodate other events. Most tours will originate from the Bellevue Dairy Queen near NE 8th & 112th, with possible second pick-up points. Take a look at what is listed below and please pass on any ideas. Contact Jim & Gail at 425-746-1750 for suggestions of sites or other information.

Club birthday and potluck this Sunday:

The date is set for July 23rd at Riverview Park in Snoqualmie.  The park is on the corner of Park Ave and Newton St. Take Hwy 203 (or also known as Railroad Ave) thru town, turn east on Newton St. and you'll run into the park within a block or 2.  The park has a small shelter house and restrooms.  Ample parking on the street with a few spaces inside the park.  The park has a great jungle gym for the kiddies.  The park is shaded and very peaceful.  The Snoqualmie River is just behind the park with a fence at the top of the river bank for safety.  Jim and Gail Darby will have to be at the park by 10 AM in order to secure the park.  Gail was unable to reserve the park.  She was told to be there early and stake her first come, first served status.  There will be no caravan tour to the park for this reason.  Club members will have to get themselves there on their own.  We will plan to begin the potluck at 1-1:30 PM.  The club is providing dessert.  Club members should bring the following: a covered dish, either a salad or main dish, their own table wear and beverages.  They should also bring lawn chairs because picnic tables are very limited.  After the potluck, club members will be able to chose from the following activities:

1) a tour of a local micro-brewery
2) visit the train depot bookstore
3) buy a ticket to travel the train from Snoqualmie to North Bend and back. The trip takes about an hour.        The cost is approx $6-7.00.  We will try to round up coupons for a discount on the tickets for those who are interested.
4) visit the train bone yard
5)
sit back and relax while visiting with other club members.
Nearly all of these activities are within a few blocks of the Riverview Park.
