During the years of the VCCA Anniversary Meets, Area 3 sponsors a "mini-meet" in the Northwest. This meet is less elaborate than the traditional Northwest Meet - it is shorter, less expensive and doesn't include judging. This year's event includes some early bird activities and officially begins Friday afternoon with a two-hour ride through the countryside ending at a park for a barbecue picnic (bring chairs). Saturday's events include a tour via back roads to Snohomish (Antique Capital of the Northwest) for lunch, with several options for you to explore. A special evening is planned on the Tulalip Indian Reservation. Sunday morning we say good-by.
Special Event for Four Cylinder Cars ("Tour To The Mountains") - Thursday, August 16 - 9:00 AM Northwest Four Cylinder Chevrolet Tour - A special opportunity will be provided on Thursday, August 16, for those who are bringing four cylinder Chevrolets to the Mini-Meet. A tour over the "Mountain Loop" highway is planned for these vehicles. This is a special scenic road over Barlow Pass and into the historic old lumbering town of Darrington.
The tour will leave the Hawthorn Inn at 9:00 am Thursday morning, and returns in the early afternoon. The event features a number of stops at historic, as well as scenic, locations along the way with a no-host lunch in Darrington. Those coming from a distance who wish to participate in this tour may want to consider extending their motel stay forward to include Wednesday night. There is no additional cost for this tour. Registration desk will be open from 6PM-9PM.
Early Bird Visits to Local Attractions - Friday, August 17 Morning For those arriving early, several options will be available. Registration open from 7 AM - 2 PM.
