General Membership Meeting Minutes--September 2004

We met at Gail and Jim Darby's house for a fantastic BBQ and short business meeting.  Gail had everything set up and ready except she had to enlist Steve Grissom to man the barbeque as Jim was still circling the skies in an airplane on his way back from a business trip.  Steve by the way did an excellent job cooking the chicken.  Those that attended were: Dave & Betty Roberts, Lee & Carol Folsom, Sallie Comstock, Donna Onat, Steve Grissom, Jerry & Mary Brownell, Jim Seiber, Jim Farris, Jim Martoza, Wally Martin, Frank & Ricky Burlando, Bob Helgeson, Tom & Sharon Lauderback, Rod & Evie Schein, John Strampher, William Damm and eventually Jim & Jeff Darby.  As always nobody went away hungry and possibly some were carrying chicken to go.
The official business part of the meeting was called to order by Rod at 8:20.  First order of business was to thank Gail for hosting the evening.  Then Rod discussed how so many members are willing to step up to the plate and do what ever needs to be done, especially for big projects like the Northwest Meet. He passed out slips of paper with all the club offices listed for members to fill out what offices or activities they would like to help with or volunteer to chair.  Rod is promoting office sharing so it's a little easier on each person to do part of a job rather than the whole job themselves, such as he and Jerry did with the director position this year.
Nominations are open for all offices with the following positions needing at least one candidate: a second half for the Co-Director, Assistant Director, Secretary, Membership Secretary, a second half for the Newsletter Editor, and maybe the Club Store.  This years nominating committee members are Rod Schein, Jim Martoza and Dave Roberts.
Steve Grissom reported that the '05 NW Meet planning is progressing well.  Banquet entertainment is being considered and a prototype for the center pieces was reviewed and approved.  A request was put forth for door prizes with hopes that all PSR members will donate 2 items to the cause.  Vehicle signs for the meet numbers were also discussed.
It is once again membership renewal time.
Don't forget to renew NOW! (For your convenience, Page 8 is a renewal Form).    It is also time to arrange the annual officer installation banquet in January.  It was suggested to have it further south this year, although John Strampher will be consulted to see if he already has arrangements in the works with the Yankee Diner in Ballard.

Respectfully submitted,
Tom & Sharon Lauderback
