This may not be your Daddy's '54
By Steve Grissom

I purchased this car in January 1997 from a VCCA member in Oregon.  He had owned the car for over 20 years and had started a restoration in mid 70's, completely disassembling the car, but had lost interest and it had sat for more than 10 years before the purchase.  I wanted a '54 Hardtop and found the car by placing an ad in the Generator & Distributor and purchased the car for $5000, which included numerous parts. (Including many of the chrome pieces that had been re-chromed. It took three trips to Oregon to pick up the car and all the parts. At purchase, the car speedometer showed 79,000 miles, which appeared to be correct, given the condition of the car.
