Dear Puget Sound Members,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer - as we look ahead we are only 12 months away from the next NW Regional Meet in Ocean Shores. My, how time flies! I am writing to give you some additional information on the meet, hoping you will share it with your club members, both at your general meetings and in your newsletters. 

As you know our meet hotel is the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino in Ocean Shores. The second hotel we have reserved is the Ramada, which is located in the town of Ocean Shores. We have also gathered some general information on RV / camping facilities available. Contact information is listed below. There is a very convenient shuttle service provided by the Casino both to and from downtown Ocean Shores. There is ample parking at the resort for show cars, tow vehicles and trailers.

We have several very special events we are incorporating into the meet. The Ladies event will be held on Thursday morning, we are also facilitating a judging school that will address the two new National Judging Classifications. Also, on Thursday we are having a "Black and White" Vintage Movie Night. Everything from the attire, decorations and food will be black and white, so plan ahead. On Friday evening we are hosting a "Blowout Beach Party" BBQ on the beach with live entertainment and several special surprises. Following with tradition we will have our awards banquet on Saturday evening at the resort.

Columbia River Region Visit


On November 3 and 4, we will be hosting approximately 35 VCCA members from the Columbia River Region. They will arrive by train on Saturday and we will chauffeur them to a number of car garages and other stops of interest.  Then on Sunday morning they will go to the Museum of Flight.  In the afternoon they board the train back home.  We still need some volunteers to act as chauffeurs and a couple of other people to arrange for food and do odds-and-ends.  Bill Barker is coordinating this activity.  Let him know if you're interested in helping.  The signup list will be at the September meeting at the Darby home.                                                               Bill Barker
