October Directors Message
It's that time of year again to nominate members for positions on the board for 2008. We will see where we stand during our October General Meeting. Jim Martoza has been doing a good job recruiting volunteers, but there might still be some positions that need filling. Don't be afraid to volunteer for an open position and help share in the duties to keep our club running. Also, it's that time of year again to pay our Region dues. New this year, Jim Martoza has been very busy getting renewal forms and roster updates done via E-mail. What a great up-to-date way for our Region to do business. Donna Onat will still be at this month's meeting to accept renewal forms and dues that didn't get returned by mail and help sign up any new members just joining. Note: Roster updates are automatically returned to Jim via E-mail when you click the "Submit by Email" button on the form. Be sure to print out the renewal form as well. Next month we look forward to the visit from members of the Columbia River Region on their RON tour of our area attractions and hidden car collections. Bill Barker has been putting a lot of time into planning this venture. Our members are showing their support for Bill's endeavor by just a quick glance of the sign up sheet for drivers to chauffer our guests. It looked like almost all of our most active members volunteered. We hope we can make their brief stay with us just as memorable as our stay was with them last year. What a neat way to share our hobby. Thanks Bill for coming up with the great idea. At this month's General Meeting we will share ideas on where to have our 2010 NW Meet location and put together a team to start planning for it. 2010 will get here sooner than we think, so it's not too soon to get started now. At an Area 3 Directors meeting on October 20 we will be discussing how Area 3 will be doing NW Meets from 2011 and on. I will share the results of that meeting with you at our meeting this month. Our 2010 NW Meet shouldn't be affected by decisions made at this meeting but could give it a different meaning. Bill Damm
