Continued from P.1 Special thanks to Jim Martoza for making the window decals and running a last minute trip home to get his computer and the overhead projector. Thanks to Bob Helgeson for also running home in the middle of the tours and getting some photo CD's to show. Thanks to George Kowats for the Museum of Flight passes for the drivers! Of course the drivers deserve a big hand! Not only did they all show up for the practice run, but they did a commendable job of getting everybody from place to place without any injuries or lost luggage! Don certainly deserves a hand for arranging the van. Without that we would have needed another 3 or 4 cars! And as a result we didn't need to call in the reserves, Dick Olson and Bob Stamnes as backup drivers…but thanks for volunteering. Thanks again to Bill Damm, Jim Martoza, Roger Orness, Jerry Brownelle, Al Howe, Dick Jones, Jim Darby, Don Comstock, Dave Roberts and Bob Helgeson for the use of your cars, your gas and your time. And a second thanks to Bob Helgeson for allowing me to bend his ear repeatedly over the past 4 months about possible tour options, routes and stops... and especially for finding a new one for us after one fell off the list! Naturally the last stop was organized largely due to Bob's friendship with Denny Akers, so we owe Bob for that, too. I think that our event was definitely up to par with the one that we attended last year at Portland. We can all be proud of our efforts. We had more guests, a shorter route and some unique locations that made it interesting for them as well as us. I feel good about how everything turned out. Again, my heartfelt thanks for pulling together and helping to satisfy a dream that we'd had for many, many years about hosting an exchange weekend by train. Sayonara. Bill Barker
