Puget Sound Region VCCA Board Meeting Minutes
January 21, 2008


The first Board Meeting of the year 2008 for the Puget Sound Region VCCA group was called to order at 6:24 PM by Director Jim Martoza at the Martoza's home on Monday January 21, 2008.  Members present were Jim Martoza, Bill Damm, Jim Farris, Bob Helgeson, Sallie and Don Comstock, Diane and Dave Haddock, Ana and George Haley, Carol and Lee Folsom, Al Howe and Dick Jones.  An agenda of items for discussion was distributed.
Announcements - The General Membership Meeting for May will be on May 19th.
September's General Meeting will be held at the Tillicum School.
Membership - 66 Members have renewed at this time. 2008 Roster is currently being printed.
2010 NW Meet - George Kowats will convene a meeting in March to begin the planning for this event.
Monroe Swap Meet - Ana will have a signup sheet at the general meetings for volunteers to work the Swap Meet in May.  This is a very important fund-raiser for the club.
Paint and Body Work Sessions - Don Comstock is responding to several requests to conduct sessions on body repair and painting.  This will probably be 3-4 sessions with time and place to be determined.
General Meetings - Jim Martoza presented a couple of options relating to agenda scheduling within the General Meetings.  He and Al Howe will work together to put together a schedule for the general business and the program portions.
Treasurers Report - Sallie provided yearend data for 2007, comparing actual expenses vs. budget.  The club operated under budget and exceeded the projected income for 2007.  Sallie presented the budget for 2008 that includes a modest increase over 2007.  The proposed budget was discussed and Jim Martoza presented a motion to accept the budget, Al Howe seconded the motion.  The Board accepted the motion.
Activities - Dave Haddock reported that about half of the members responded to their request for input to a survey on activities.  They have several very good activities in work that will be discussed in the Tappet Clatter and in the General Meetings.
January Banquet - 56 people are signed up to attend the Banquet.
Passport Program - Jim Farris led a discussion on the Passport Program, it is now a national program where members can track their mileage and received mileage awards.  Members who already have the PSVCCA Passports can continue to use them. 
Computer Class - Jim Martoza reported that he received requests for computer class following the November General Meeting where he presented a program about accessing the internet and the PSVCCA and VCCA websites. 
Safety Focal - Bill Damm be providing a mixture of items to promote safety in the club.
Club By-Laws - Annual review of the club's By-Laws was discussed.
Next Board Meeting - The next Board Meeting will be held March 18, 2008.  Location to be determined.
Chevropedia - Lee Folsom wants to build a database of Vintage Chevrolet parts with images that would assist members in identifying the correct part for the year of the car.  This would especially be useful when identifying the correct accessories for your car.  The name for this project is still in discussion and it will need help from many members to see this to completion.
Area III Region Judge Database - The regions have been asked to identify members who are qualified and willing to judge at meets.
The meeting adjourned at 8:20pm.
